Preprinted from Cosmopolitan Magazine, New York, 1949. Stated limited edition. Book is in Very Good condition: boards have light wear on front, rear, edges and corners; binding is tight and pages are clean and bright. No dust jacket as issued. From copyright page: "This book is a preprint of the condensed version of 'A Writer's Notebook' being serialized in Cosmopolitan Magazine. It is not for sale. The complete book will be published in the fall of 1949 by Doubleday & Company, Inc."

Chas. P. Young Co., New York, 1976. 390 pages. Limited Edition. Bicentennial Edition of the Complete Yale University Text. 2,000 copies printed, and all were only for presentation to the friends of the Chas. P. Young Company and its divisions -- none were for sale. Edited by Leonard Labaree, Ralph L. Ketcham, Helen C. Boatfield, and Helene H. Fineman. This is a beautiful edition. The exterior boards have marbled paper with a gilt strip along both sides of the spine and gilt top edge. The dust jacket is antique white with the name of the book on the spine. Frontispiece is b/w reproduction of painting of Franklin by David Martin. Book is in Near Fine condition: there is a small mark on the exterior rear board. The dust jacket is in Very Good+ condition: part of it is yellowing from age; has a tear near the bottom front corner parallel to the bottom edge and a tiny nick on the top edge of the rear.
