Printed by Order of the City Council at the Press of Rockwell & Churchill, Boston, 1893. 71 pages. Signed on a front free page by a city councilman as follows: "Compliments, of Councilman Seth P. Smith Aug. 8, 1893". First Edition. Book is in Very Good+ condition: edge wear; corners bumped and lightly worn; light discoloration. Gilt design and print on boards and spine are bright; binding is tight and pages are clean. Contents are: Anniversary Celebration; Exercises at Boston Theatre; Oration by Prof. John Fiske; Appendix - Details of the Procession. Includes 7 full-page b/w illustrations: portrait of Columbus and photographs taken on or about Columbus Day in 1893 of a Statue of Columbus; City Hall; Faneuil Hall, Old State House Front; Old State House Rear; Boston Theatre Interior.

Exposition Press, Hicksville, NY, 1978. Signed by editor, Martha R. Wright on title page (flat-signed, meaning that only the author's signature apears; there is no inscription to any person). Stated 1st edition. Book is in Good+ condition: damp-stained on front and rear boards and end pages and bottom margin of last few pages; corners bumped; inscription on front free end page; binding is tight and pages are clean and bright. Dust jacket in Good+ condition: two large chips on bottom; not price-clipped. From the dust jacket: "For several years before his death in 1826, Royall Tyler was writing The Bay Boy, his autobiographical novel, which lay unfinished and untouched formany years among his voluminous papers. It was not until 1964 taht these writings, long in the custody of the Vermont Historical Society, were made available to qualified scholars. Martha Wright, a longtime admirer of Tyler, upon discovering this delightful novel, sought and was granted permission to publish it. Carefully edited, with onnly slight changes, The Bay Boy is faithfully presented as it was found -- incomplete but an incomparable picture of colonial America.
